Why Canada Daily Deal
As previously mentioned, Canada Daily Deal's objective is to: assesses, rate, and ultimately features only the best and most trusted daily deals across the country. We feature both product and service deals in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. We and assess the quality of these daily deals through consumer reviews, trusted product forums, deal site insiders, and much more. Due to this careful assessment Canada Daily Deal may present only certain deals from a given site. For example, we may find that the site HungyBuy.com is a reputable, easily contacted, and legitimate site and therefore go on to feature their daily deals on Canada Daily Deal. However, if we find HungryBuy is promoting a daily deal which we have found to be unsatisfactory, coercive, and/or poorly rated we may choose to not feature that particular deal and instead feature only certain well rated deals from that site.
The Assessment Process
Canada Daily Deal reserves the right to feature only those deals and site which meet our strict deal/site requirements.
The Problem With Daily Deal Sites
The problem with daily deal sites is that as these site grow they become less and less of a fully functioning business and more of a platform. The issue here is that the shift to platform, although ultimately more profitable for the deals site, makes dealing with the site more difficult for both merchants and users. Contacting sites like Groupon has become an exercise in patience and practice. When users have an issue regrading the coupon they have bought or understanding the process of redemption most have found that:
a) Getting a hold of someone from the site is nearly impossible and ...
b) When they do contact the site their customer service is awful.
The same is true for merchants. Once a deal contract is signed these site quickly become unreachable/unhelpful which can be unsettling for many merchants and ultimately may affect their service. It is important for daily deal to understand that although they are essentially PAAS (platform as a service) based companies the nature of their business still requires excellent customer service and communication. This is why here at Canada Daily Deal we carefully assess and monitor both the daily deal site and the deal's featured on those sites in an effort to present to our users only the most trustworthy, responsible and transparent sites and deals.
